Citlali in Pastel Dreams

by Emma Collins

Rendered in soft acrylic marker strokes with delicate lines and pastel purple and pink hues, this hand-drawn illustration captures the Genshin Impact character Citlali in a dreamy, ethereal light, creating a serene and healing atmosphere.

How it was made

  1. Initial Composition and Base Colors

Block in the character's overall pose, hair flow, and halo with broad, soft strokes using the brush tip, laying down the foundational pink, purple, and blue pastel tones across the canvas.

  2. Refining Facial Features and Eye Base

Switch to the fine tip in a warm brown or golden hue to carefully outline the delicate facial contours and hair strands, then lay in the initial deep blue and violet base colors for the eyes.

  3. Building Soft Translucent Gradients

Layer and blend the pink, lavender, and white tones onto the hair and skin, leveraging the textured paper and semi-transparent strokes to create dreamy, soft shadows and a watercolor-like depth.

  4. Final Detailing and Luminous Highlights

Deepen the intricate details of the eyes by adding the pupils, delicate lashes, and bright reflective highlights, and apply subtle warm yellow accents to the face and hair tips to give the portrait a gentle, glowing finish.
